ABOUT THE CLUB

Dogfrisbee, or disc dog, is a relatively new canine sport in Europe, but it is expanding rapidly and gaining ever more enthusiasts. It began in the United States in the 1970s. The main emphasis of the sport is for the handler and dog to have fun throwing and catching frisbees in a skilled and safe manner.

FRISBEE IN SLOVENIA

The canine sport of frisbee first came to Slovenia in early 2007.  The new hobby spread quickly and was taken up by several outstanding teams who continue playing to this day in Slovenia and internationally. This year a group of active frisbee-playing friends and acquaintances got together to found a new club, Flipsi. The main purpose of the club is to bring together people from various parts of Slovenia and continue developing the sport in this country. The club's goals are to promote this canine sport in a healthy way and attract new members, enthusiasts and anyone who is interested in developing the human-dog partnership at this level.

The primary emphasis of this sport is for the dog and handler to enjoy throwing and catching frisbees in a skilled and safe manner. Having fun is the most important thing for us and our principle is to have a good time while working with our dogs. The club exists to help members pursue their frisbee dreams and aspirations.  All of us gathered here have different experiences and we're always ready to help one another with ideas and training tips.

Flipsi is a young club which has been established on a stable and healthy foundation. We have confidence in our future and hope to create a solid history and tradition for the club, in Slovenia and abroad.
