Petra Pečar

I'm Petra Pečar and I live in Suhadole. I became interested in frisbee some years ago, when I got my first "dog" frisbee. Unfortunately my dog at the time, a Samoyed named Raffy, did not share my enthusiasm for this dog sport. When I was deciding which breed to get for my next dog, I also looked at how enthusiastic representatives of the breed were about playing frisbee. And in this way border collie Veni came into my life.

I  bought Veni a cloth frisbee when she was only five months old, and soon it became her favorite toy. But unfortunately cloth frisbees did not last very long. So along with some others interested in the sport we decided to purchase some specially designed canine frisbees from abroad, and that's when it started up more seriously. To begin with I tried to learn different kinds of throws from the internet, and a little later I borrowed a DVD. In September 2007 we participated in a seminar led by Jean McCollister, and at the minidistance competition there we were third. In April 2008 we helped organize and took part in a two-day seminar led by Jakub Stybr from the Czech Republic.

After the seminar there was a 4fun competition, where Veni and I finished in 11th place in minidistance, after a poor first round. We also finished in 11th place in Dogdartbee. Veni and I occasionally take part in frisbee competitions, where we achieve pretty good results.

In 2010 we were joined by another border collie, AC. AC loves playing frisbee, and she also now goes to competitions.

Although we enjoy playing frisbee, our first love is agility. Nevertheless, frisbee remains an indispensable part of our daily walks, since we all have fun doing it.
